This Doug Rye energy-efficient model home was sponsored by Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative and constructed in Alma. The home is one of several model energy homes sponsored by the electric cooperatives of Arkansas located in various areas of the state. Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative's involvement in the model home is to promote energy conservation through energy-efficient building techniques and products.

Doug Rye, architect and nationally known energy expert, Arkansas Electric Cooperative, and Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative work as partners to provide energy conservation consulting to home owners and builders in the construction of all-electric, truly energy-efficient model homes.
