How H.E.L.P. Works
H.E.L.P. is a simple process that makes sure participants are completely informed of any and all energy efficiency improvements, costs and potential savings. The four-step process is simple:
- Once you are qualified, we will set up a time to perform an energy assessment of your home. Our certified auditors will look for things such as air sealing, duct sealing, attic insulation and more.
- Upon completion of the assessment, we will review the results with you and determine areas of improvement, loan details and estimated savings.
- Once improvements and terms are agreed upon, we will schedule the energy efficiency improvements with our contractors.
- After completion of energy efficiency improvements, our quality control team will ensure all improvements were completed and that standards were met.
After all improvements have been made and checked for quality, total project costs will be financed on your electric bills. With flexible loan terms we can set your payment to be equal or less then what your savings will be, costing you nothing out of pocket each month.
Qualifying for H.E.L.P.
You must have an account in good standing, with good payment history, to participate in H.E.L.P. To determine if your home qualifies, there’s a simple calculation you can do on your own. Take your highest bill over the last 12 months and divide it by the square footage of your home. If that number is higher than $0.10 per square foot, you likely pre-qualify for the program.
For example, if your home is 1,500 square feet, and your highest bill over the last 12 months is $200, your energy usage for that month is $0.13 per square foot and you likely pre-qualify for the program.
If you do not happen to qualify for H.E.L.P., we offer a complete energy audit program that can help you lower your energy bills. Our certified energy auditors can help you find simple and easy ways to make your home more energy efficient. Learn more.
