Employee Spotlight: Nathan Gibbons

“As an electrical engineer at AVECC, my work can involve analyzing electrical system data, assisting with engineering projects, programming field devices like reclosers, regulators and capacitors, supporting substation work and collaborating with different departments. Two days are not ever exactly the same, and every day presents a new opportunity to learn and help improve the systems that our members depend on.

One of the things I’ve appreciated most throughout my time here is the cooperative culture. People are always willing to help, share their knowledge and work together to solve problems. That support played a huge role in my growth from intern to engineer, and it’s one of the reasons I’m excited about my future at AVECC. As someone who grew up in this area, it’s especially meaningful to know that working as an engineer for a cooperative that serves the communities I call home and being able to give back to the people and places that helped shape me makes this career even more rewarding.”
