Aundrae Milam - Plugging In Potential

As a recent County Line High School graduate, Aundrae is interning at Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative's Headquarters as a Lineman. The internship will enable Aundrae to work part-time as AVECC sponsors him to study High Voltage Lineman Technology at Arkansas State University - Newport as part of the annual AVECC Lineman Scholarship.

"This is a dream come true," he shared. "Michael Lloyd (AVECC Lineman) is my youth pastor, and he greatly influenced me to find this career."

"I have always heard such good things about Arkansas Valley. I like working outside and working with my hands. [Being a lineman] is what I am meant to do."

Aundrae explained that he believes in learning from asking questions. "My co-workers are laid-back and eager to help. I learn a lot from just riding in the truck with experienced linemen."

As he reflected on his summer working with the AVECC Lineman, Aundrae shared, "At the co-op, I feel valued, like I am a part of a family and a brotherhood. "
