Derek Brown | Student-Athlete of the Week

Arkansas Valley Electric and Wave Rural Connect #StudentAthleteOfTheWeek is Derek Brown.

Derek is a senior and right tackle/defensive end for the Lavaca Golden Arrows. He has attended Lavaca High School his entire academic career and "couldn't imagine going anywhere else." Derek shared his gratitude for playing this game in front of hometown fans. "I really love it."

Despite facing challenges that come with losing the majority of their line after last season, Derek and his teammates have persevered. Derek said, "It's been difficult, but I think we are doing pretty well so far. We won our first four games."

His hard work, positive attitude, and commitment to the Golden Arrows make him deserving of the student-athlete of the week award. Keep up the great work, Derek!
