Justin Haltom | Student-Athlete of the Week

Justin Haltom is the Westside Rebels' Senior Right Guard and Defensive End player. Justin has played alongside his friends and teammates since the seventh grade. 

The football season hasn't gone as well as Justin wanted, but he prides his team in their growth and all they have learned together.  

"I couldn't ask for a better group of guys to play with over these years," said Justin.

He continued, "Wearing the Westside jersey every week means everything to me. My dad's been teaching here for nearly 30 years, and I'm 17, so I've been coming to games my entire life watching all the players who came before me, and then now, knowing I'll eventually wear the jersey for the last time.  It's just so surreal. It's a family out here. It's a brotherhood. I wouldn't trade it for the world."

Justin will continue his athletic career by playing basketball and baseball for the remainder of his Senior year. 

After graduation, Justin plans on pursuing a degree in hospitality management.
