Mulberry Yellowjackets, Ashtyn Conley and Jaxson Keeling have been named the #StudentAthletesOfTheWeek by Arkansas Valley Electric and Wave Rural Connect.

Ashtyn Conley is a senior player for the Lady Yellowjackets and has attended Mulberry since kindergarten.

Reflecting on the current basketball season, Ashtyn shared her pride in the team's achievements and their unity on the court. She explained, "Our team set goals at the beginning of the year, and we have accomplished most of them. However, our season isn't over yet, and we still have a couple more to accomplish."

One of Ashtyn's personal goals was recently met in the game against County Line, as she scored her 1,000th point.

She credits her family for instilling her love of the game from a young age. Her parents and brother have been instrumental in her journey, with her parents serving as her coaches in her younger years and her brother continuing his career as a coach. Basketball is truly a family affair for the Conleys. Ashtyn plans to play basketball in college and return to her hometown as a coach.

Jaxon is a sophomore player for the Mulberry Yellowjackets and has also attended Mulberry for his entire school career.

"Our team is doing pretty good this year," he shared. "I have great teammates, and I love playing with them. We only have eight players, but we have a lot of heart."

Jaxson continued, "We are going into the district tournament now. We will give it our best and hopefully move on to regionals and then state."

Like Ashtyn's, Jaxson's dream is to play college basketball and become a coach. Jaxson's passion for basketball is evident, and he has a heartfelt desire to give back to his community. He explained, "I have seen so much growth within myself this year. I want to return to Mulberry and help other kids like my coaches have helped me."
