Evelyn Leding - Intern

Evelyn Leding | Member Services Intern

Evelyn Leding is a student at the University of Arkansas Tech in Russellville and is studying Instrumental Music Education. She has been an intern at Arkansas Valley Electric for the past three summers and has many things to say about the atmosphere. “I just love the community here. The people are great. They’re great friends, great colleagues, and it’s just a fantastic place to work.

” Evelyn is a part of the Members Service team. This job entails conversing with many Arkansas Valley Electric members and handling funds. “Working with members is probably one of my favorite parts. It’s really helped me in a lot of different ways to see the different situations and the different things that people deal with.” Leding explains how her internship with her department has truly strengthened her empathy with people and learned how to talk to members. She states how she wants the members to feel seen and heard. Later, she expresses how the co-op has taught her lots of information regarding types of money and money systems. “That’s something that I didn’t really have before working here, and it's not really something that they teach you in your classes.”

Evelyn, being a veteran intern, has also expressed her areas of growth these past years at the co-op. Evelyn explains that the internship has been beneficial in many ways, such as the ability to converse better in personal relationships and business situations. “They really care about us, and I think that's pretty obvious.” She expresses how even being an intern “it is a really tight-knit community here.” Arkansas Valley Electric is grateful for strong working interns such as Evelyn, and thankful to have her a part of our community.
