Peyton Raruk - Plugging in Potential

Peyton Raruk | Operations Intern
Peyton Raruk interned at AVECC's Pocola District earlier this year. He is a resident of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and graduated from high school in 2020.
Peyton is currently pursuing a certificate in High Voltage Lineman Technology at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, and intends to graduate in the spring of 2026. His internship with AVECC was not only close to home but also an environment he enjoys.
"I like the cooperative style since it's more rural. I get to go places with no phone service and nice views."
Growing up in a family of linemen, Peyton got to see firsthand the benefits that this line of work had to offer. He knew that this was something he wanted to pursue because of the positive impact it had on his family and his upbringing. Working with the linemen in the field, Peyton explained that he learns something new each day.
"Being around a cooperative is familiar to me because of the sense of family we have here." Even if it is routine work, he is constantly learning from his coworkers and his experiences with the Cooperative.
