In the heart of northern Johnson County, JT, Abigail, and their dog Jolene are serving more than just quality food. This trio works together to nurture a meaningful space that feels comfortingly familiar, a sanctuary for genuine connection at the foot of the Ozarks. 
Designed to remind patrons of a simpler time, stepping inside Hagarville Grocery and Deli feels like returning to your grandparent’s home. With "tables and chairs like your grandma might have had," JT and Abigail strive to create a space that “feels familiar to everyone, regardless of where they’re from.”
Their commitment to "high quality, intentional food" is evident in every dish. Much of what they offer, including sauces, salsa, and pickled eggs, is made in-store using their own recipes. As JT puts it, "I like to make food that I want to eat, and I figure if I like it, you’re going to like it too."
Visitors are guaranteed to be greeted with the aroma of the “best sammiches in Arkansas,” specifically the house favorite, the “DogMother Sammich.” This sandwich is mounded with ham, pepperoni, salami, and provolone cheese, then topped with house-made garlic mayo, lettuce, red onion, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, and a pepperoncini garnish. For those who save room, the “Bee-Nana Milkshake” offers the perfect sweet finish. 
While the food is top-tier, it is the welcoming environment that draws people into this quiet corner of the world. The store is constantly buzzing with an array of hometown comfort and a variety of culture, fueled by the tourists who drop in and decide to stay a while.
