Can you believe the holiday season is already upon us? In just a few short weeks, we’ll be gathering around the table for turkey and pumpkin pie, decorating Christmas trees and turning up our favorite holiday playlists. (Cue Mariah Carey!)
For many, the holiday season is filled with joy, excitement and cherished traditions. But for others, this time of year can bring additional financial stress, making it difficult to enjoy the season’s celebrations.
At Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative Corporation (AVECC), we believe in the power of neighbors helping neighbors. By donating just a few pennies a month, you can also make a positive impact on your neighbors.
Through AVECC’s Round Up for Change program, members have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of fellow cooperative members for less than $1 a month.
The concept is simple: Participating members voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next whole dollar. That spare change is collected and used to provide electric bill assistance to AVECC members experiencing significant financial hardship.
For example, if your monthly electric bill is $125.63, your bill would round up to $126, contributing just 37 cents to the program. While a few cents may not seem like much on their own, when combined with contributions from other participating members, those pennies can add up to meaningful assistance for neighbors in need.
That’s the cooperative difference.
As a member-owned electric cooperative, AVECC was built on the principle of people working together for the greater good. Round Up for Change puts that principle into action, giving members a simple way to support one another and strengthen the communities we call home.
And the best part? Your contribution adds up fast. With each participating member contributing less than a dollar per month, small acts of generosity can create a lasting impact.
As we enter this season of giving, we encourage you to consider how a little change can make a big difference. Whether it’s lending a helping hand to a neighbor, supporting a local organization, or participating in Round Up for Change, every act of kindness matters.
Are you ready to turn your spare change into something meaningful?
