Hello,

My name is Allison Ober, and I’m a senior at Lamar High School. This year, I have the honor of serving as the 2025 Arkansas representative for the Youth Leadership Council (YLC), a program of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

As part of my role, I’m leading a community service project during Cooperative Appreciation Month this October. I’ve chosen to organize a supply drive for The Call, whose mission is to mobilize and equip local communities to provide a future and a family for children in foster care. Their purpose is to make a positive impact on the next generation by supporting both the children and the families who open their homes to them.

I invite all AVECC members to join me in this effort. The supply drive will take place Oct 1–31, and every contribution will directly help foster families in the River Valley. Together, we can make a difference and show what it means to be part of a cooperative that cares for its community.
