Evelyn Leding - Plugging In Potential

Evelyn Leding | MSR Intern

As a Sophomore Musical Education Major at Arkansas Tech University, Evelyn is interning at AVECC's Headquarters in the Member Services Department this summer.

As an Altus native and Ozark graduate, Evelyn was drawn towards working at the cooperative by her connections and family friends already working at AVECC Headquarters.

"Before I started working here, I did not know much about Arkansas Valley, just that my parents paid the electric bill and I saw the building. The people here are really helpful. They genuinely care to help the members, which is awesome."

"I mainly work the drive-through window, taking payments and posting them. I also help with other projects as needed, such as the annual meeting or filing capital credit checks. Working at the drive-thru window has been an excellent opportunity to work on talking to new people.

Though her internship role differs from her intended career path, her passion for serving others is evident through her careful choice of internship and aspirations in music education.

"My parents always told me, 'If you do something you love, you won't work a day in your life.' I knew I wanted a career where I could help people AND do something I loved at the same time."
