Turner Wright | Student-Athlete of the Week
Arkansas Valley Electric and Wave Rural Connect's #StudentAthleteOfTheWeek is Turner Wright.
Turner is an accomplished senior who plays right offensive tackle and strong side defensive tackle. Turner has been playing on the Mansfield Tiger football team since little league and takes immense pride in representing his hometown for his final season.
Despite the challenge of four out of five starting offensive linemen graduating after last season, Turner remains optimistic about the team's performance this year. As the only returning member of the offensive line, Turner has taken it upon himself to be a source of motivation and inspiration for his teammates, pushing them to improve together.
Reflecting on last season, Turner shared, "I remember looking up to the seniors last year and how I felt [about their leadership on the team]. As the only senior this year, I have been leading my younger teammates a lot in practice, keeping the volume up, and maintaining the excitement while running drills. I believe that it's important that we motivate each other to work hard and be better."
Turner is anticipating a great season for the Tigers, with significant improvements and deep playoff play in sight. His exceptional leadership, dedication, and hard work have earned him the title of Student-Athlete of the Week, and we are proud to recognize him for his remarkable achievements.
